Its elliptical blade design (82mm tall x 153mm wide, “163” surface area) ensures maximum flow capacity without overwhelming the factory electronics, preventing the dreaded wrench-light failsafe condition.
The VMP 163R comes fully assembled with OEM-style electronics, tested and ready to bolt on. Included in the package are adapter and throttle body gaskets, coupler, and hardware for a straightforward installation. Compatible with 2005–2014 electronics (-G suffix), this throttle body integrates seamlessly into modern high-horsepower builds.
Perfect for cars with aftermarket camshafts and reduced vacuum, the 163R is easier to tune compared to oversized alternatives. With the right calibration, it offers stable idle, smooth part-throttle control, and big power potential for drag racing, street builds, and max-effort setups.
If your build doesn’t yet require extreme airflow, VMP recommends their smaller Twinjet 67mm, 69mm, or 137 Monoblade options for improved throttle response on lower-power combinations.
