By lowering your S550 Mustang, you have consequently lowered the front roll center. This leads to symptoms you have likely experienced: reduced steering response, increased body roll, and reduced cornering grip.
Solution: Steeda's industry-first S550 Mustang Front Control Arms, a must for all lowered 2015+ Mustangs. These arms are manufactured to exceed OE Performance Pack specifications, with one major benefit: roll center correction.
By increasing the ball stud height on the Lateral Link, Steeda has eliminated the adverse effects of lowering your vehicle by raising the front roll center. This, in turn, helps to increase steering response, decrease body roll, and increase cornering grip, helping you turn even better lap times!
The Tension Links have air scoops built onto them for added brake cooling and feature our 555-4128 - Steeda S550 Mustang Front Control Arm Bearings, which eliminates bushing deflection.
These are a must for any S550 Mustang owner looking a bolt-on suspension upgrade to increase handling performance.
Use in conjunction with our 555-8133 - Steeda S550 Mustang Bumpsteer Kit for ultimate performance.
Product Benefits: - Lateral Links correct the front roll center on vehicles lowered 0.5" or more
- Decreases body roll
- Improves tire contact patch with the road
- Increased cornering grip
- Tension Links feature our Steeda S550 Mustang Front Control Arm Bearing Kit
- Replaces bushing, eliminating deflection
- Reduces alignment change under loads
- Increases steering wheel responsiveness

Hi everybody Brian from Steeda. Highlighting our Lateral & Tension Link Kit for the S550 Mustang. Attention corner carvers and cone killers! This kit is prefect for you, it's designed to improve the balance and handling on the front end of your S550 Mustang. So if you have a 2015 and later Ecoboost, V6 or GT and your putting it through its paces and through the corners, again listen up! As noted in the introduction this kit is a combination of the Lateral Links with Extended Height Ball Joints as well as our Tension Links with Spherical Bearings. Well start with the Lateral Links. We won't get into to much detail because we actually have an individual video on this as well as the Tension Links. So defiantly check those out on our Youtube Channel. The Extended Height Ball Joints on the Lateral Links help correct roll center and this is were we talk about that front end geometry and the handling aspect of your car and of course feel. We always take about feel through the steering wheel and as an enthusiast and feedback we can give you as a driver, the faster your going to go, the more confident your going to be and well the better your going to perform weather it's at a time trial, autocross or just simply just lapping around a race track. So the reality is Extended Height Ball Joints are to compensate for lowering the car. If you've lowered your Mustang 3/4 of an inch or more, that's for a GT, Ecoboost or V6 or if it's a Magneride equipped car more then a 1/2 inch lower then it was stock, we defiantly recommend the Lateral Links or again of off course, this kit. The Extended Height Ball Joints correct the geometry by correcting the roll center of the car. Again we are not going to get to far into this. The idea here is to clean up the front end geometry. Now the Tension Links the beauty behind these is they coincide well with the Lateral Links in the way your front suspension works. Obviously your wheel carrier, your front spindle connects to both ball joints. With the extended height, brings that up, corrects roll center. Ultimately gets you squared away. Now we do recommend a Bump Steer Kit if your doing this combination as well inparticular because of the Lateral Links to really dial out the Bump Steer and any toe change under hard cornering. Bumpsteer Kit, You bet ya! We did a video on that as well. So check that out. Now the Tension Links, their responsibility is to give you better feedback under hard braking and hard cornering and what they are responsible for is making certain as the suspension compresses that it can't move forward or backward. That's why you have a bearing at the front and why we've provided and installed a bearing in the front so that there's no deflection. Now the bearing is at the chassis end so you don't need to worry about any noise, vibration or harshness. The reality is that you get much crisper handling and consistent because it's not a bushing that's flexing up there. It's a bearing and it's rotating smoothly of course, a spherical bearing obviously articulates many different directions. So this combo kit is really important for those of you that are seeking out the last bits of handling in your car. If you've lowered it more than 3/4 of an inch. Again it will fit the S550GT, Ecoboost and V6 models as well as Magnride equipped cars but obviously with Magnride your not going to lower the car quite as much because it's already starting out 1/4 inch lower from the factory. The control arms included in this combination kit are a direct replacement for the factory control arms, no modifications are required to the car. We defiantly recommend professional installation and an alignment afterwards is required. Particularly because of the Lateral Links and the Extended Height Ball Joints and the effect or change improvement that they are going to make to the geometry of the car once it's been lowered. As noted we try to group things together, so if your going to do the Lateral Links defiantly get yourself that Bumps Steer Kit as well, so you can set the Outer Tie Rod Ends nearly parallel to the Lateral Links. Again that's just kind of a loose way of giving you a point of reference. A professional alignment shop or race shop will ultimately need to measure the tow, make the changes, get the car alignment set, and again you will enjoy the benefits. The feedback you get through the steering wheel, the feedback you get through the brakes as well. When your hard on the brakes from the Tension Links and hard through the corners. You see the way we push our Yellow #20 Car as well as our Red Q500 HPDE Car when we're out at the track and hopping off those rumble strips. Again you have great feel, great sense of motion as far as what's happening. It reduces the scrub radius. Defiantly improves the overall feel of the car. Again weather your chasing cones or chasing corners and lap times.
