Fox Body Mustang IRS Suspension system | It’s no secret that independent rear suspensions (IRS) are superior in almost every way over a stick axle. The biggest concerns are cost and ease of installation. This bolt-on Ridetech IRS Conversion is specifically designed for the 1979-1993 Fox Body Mustang and provides maximum performance, high strength and OE reliability utilizing 2015-2023 Mustang driveline/brake components. For an unstoppable combination, this IRS system was designed to work alongside our recently released SLA (Short Long Arm) front suspension assembly. That system exchanges the OEM MacPherson strut assembly out for a superior double wishbone design, drastically enhancing front end grip and performance.

Fitment Notes:
- Uses S550 (2015+) Mustang differential (not included). New units can be purchased from Ford Performance. Takeout units are also available.
- Uses shortened S550 (2015+) Mustang axles (not included). Standard strength are available from Ridetech. Contact G-Force or The Driveshaft Shop for higher horse variants.
- Allows direct bolt-on of both stock SN95 Cobra (1999-2004) or S550 (2015+) rear OE or aftermarket brakes via Ridetech caliper brackets.
- Works with 99-04 Cobra cat-back exhaust.
- Requires shortened drive shaft and pinion flange to U-joint adapter
- Works with Ridetech Coilovers or Shockwaves, sold separately.
- Optional adjustable rate rear sway bar is available for additional fine-tuning.
