The MM Road & Track Box takes the stock IRS-equipped Mustang Cobra suspension design to the next level. This combination of parts provides great performance while retaining ride quality suitable for daily driving. Excellent for canyon carving, autocrossing, track days, and daily commuting.
The Road & Track Box takes handling performance as far as the stock suspension design can go while still retaining good ride quality. It provides all the basics: chassis stiffening, higher-rate springs with matching dampers, caster camber plates, IRS subframe bushings, and much more. The difference in performance from a stock suspension is amazing, and we rarely use that word.
Choose between 3 excellent damper brands; MM, Koni, or Bilstein. If your Mustang is equipped with the OEM Cobra Bilstein dampers that were stock on the 2003-2004 hard top model you can keep them, since they're very similar to the MM Street series and Bilstein HD series. MM does NOT recommend using the OEM Cobra convertible Bilstein dampers.
- MM Street struts are most suitable for upgrading to coil-overs. The MM-designed and -manufactured strut housing is the most robust available, with strengthened mounting ears. The accompanying shocks are the standard Bilstein HD series. Excellent performance and ride quality. The shocks require modification to convert to coil-overs;
- Koni SA dampers are adjustable, and work well for those who know how to evaluate handling and make the proper adjustments to optimize the dampers. The shocks require modification to convert to coil-overs; The struts need NO modification.
- Bilstein HD dampers provide great performance and good ride quality. The shocks require modification to convert to coil-overs; The struts need NO modification.
