Through testing and development of the Shelby Code Red project we have discovered a drop in over all transmission pressure during a hard G launch. We determined that over filling the transmission aided in reducing transmission pressure drop but it was not enough. The pickup needs to be submersed in more fluid. This results in overall clutch pressure drop and reduces the transmission ability to hit the target clutch pressure. The Fathouse Performance FP-GT500-DCT-P billet deep sump transmission pan has been specifically designed for the Tremec TR-9070 DCT transmission and eliminates this issue by adding 1 extra qt of fluid. The pan comes with a billet pickup tube extension and utilizes your factory transmission filter.
If you scroll through the gallery you will find some data log screenshots. The first screenshot shows a transmission that was overfilled but still utilizes the factory transmission pan. You can see that transmission pressure drops due to cavitation on a hard launch resulting in a drop in clutch pressure. The second screenshot is our deep sump transmission pan. This car maintains system pressure. Actual Clutch Pressure also follows the Target Clutch Pressure as it should.
You will need to purchase a quart of Ford GT500 DCT Transmission Fluid XT-14-L to use during your install. You will be reusing your factory filter and rubber gasket, depending on your mileage you may wish to purchase replacements for these as well.
